Install electric box before or after hard plastering? Advise needed

It is a serial cupboard. You mean it was a cupboard when you fitted it and it has been a cupboard every year since?

You can get posh box covers to stop evil plasterers filling them up.

I did a job once with 15 accessory boxes first fixed. When we got back after plastering, there was no sign of any boxes at all on the wall.

Similar happened on one of my first house bashing jobs, my boss was an ex pro rugby player with the temper of a Rhino, he walked round smashing random holes in the plaster till we found our boxes, it was funny
 
I’ve found a telecoms type sniffer probe works well to find plastered in boxes.
