I've advertised a camera on eBay and had a response from a buyer who wants to come and handle the gear and, if it's acceptable, pay me in cash. Am wondering if this is worth the risk at
the present time.
If I sell how do I sanitize the cash. If I don't sell, how do I sanitize the camera afterwards.

You drop the cash or camera,(depending on a sale or not) into a preprepared plastic bag, then leave somewhere for 3 days in isolation, before touching.

Watch your buyer does not suddenly do a runner...........

paper bag, or envelope, is better for the cash. the virus dies quicker on absorbent surfaces.

Just take the cash and put it in a drawer for a few days.
Wash your hands afterwards.
Avoid smelling/licking the cash and your hands.
Sorry I have to say this after in another thread my comments were scrutinised for detailed useless particulars.

As for the camera, quarantine it for 3 days (as trazor said) until handling again or wipe down with a cloth dampened with a dilute disenfectant solution. Bear in mind that antiseptic wipes kill bacteria not viruses.

Use a damp cloth soaked in sanitiser that has a strong (70% minimum) alcohol base to clean the camera.

For the payment you have a few alternatives. Cash treated as suggested, bank transfer, (retain the camera until funds have transferred), bankers draft or postal order depending on the amount, (don't know how high you can go with a postal order). Treat anything you touch, be it cash, cheque, postal order or camera if he doesn't buy it with care and treat as suggested above and make sure you wear disposable gloves when doing so.

If he wants to try out the camera make sure he wears gloves and try to keep him between you and your home so if he attempts a runner he has to get past you first.

Hand sanitizer for buyer and seller, prior to handling of camera.
As said, put cash aside, and use hand sanitizer after handling it.

Have you ever been to a shop?

If you have, it'll be like that but the other way round.

If you are that worried, keep the camera.

Make sure he gives you the money before you give him the camera...

Personally I"d say pay by PayPal. Then come and try the camera. If he doesn't like it, return his money by PayPal.
