Coronavirus clap.

The lady who suggested it in the first place is right to call for an end to it.

What started out as a gesture of thanks has now been used politically as a pointless symbolism in order to hide leadership failure!

The people who have done the difficult bit know who they are, and the borisconi led clap is now a slap in the face to key health workers!

I reckon we should clap for those who threatened to leave the UK, came to their senses, realised it was a fantastic place to live and decided to stay. I’ll be clapping tonight. (y)

Stop boasting about it or you will encourage foreigners to want to live there - or is that your intention?.
mottie has indeed encouraged immigration...

Only ironically not of the skin colour he would prefer ;)

I have no problem with people from other countries wanting to live here as long as (a) they are needed, (b) they do a job of work and (c) they abide by our rules and laws. That’s not too much to ask is it? I’d have no problem abiding by those rules if I wanted to be accepted and live in another country.

I'm sure EFL abides by Portuguese laws and is respectable of their cultures and is an out and out good resident of citizen.

I hope he does - we don’t want to be getting a bad name for Brits abroad!

I must admit, I do regard myself as a guest.

I would not dream of trying to impose my views on the local people or the country.

So, in that respect, I suppose I agree with you.

But at what point would you feel you had a right to a say or cast a vote?

Because at present after 15 years you would have no say in the UK, and that cut off period is about to change both here and in the EU.

Do you accept that you will be disenfranchised from any form of 'democracy' merely because of where you wish to live?

How long have you been over there, EFLI?
How is your command of portuguese?
And, why Portugal, rather than Spain, Italy, France, Greece, Cyprus, Malta..........?

My time in Australia the monarchy head of state subject come up a few times. My answer always was. It's not for me to say. I will go with what ever the Aussies decide. Same with the flag...

I have never once seen you post anything positive about immigrants, so I find your above statement rather hollow -all you do is moan about immigrants being criminals or illegals, which gives the distinct impression that you consider that to apply to the majority.

I dont remember your 'overrun with them' statment also said 'of course I dont mean those that live and work here'
