We have an early Powermaster 30 system. I bought a new KP250 on eBay as I wanted to get a proximity reader to give some family members access but I cannot enroll it, I have a feeling the keypad if fine but it's not compatible with my panel due to age, it is a 868-1 version not ADT. Is there any way to upgrade the firmware on my panel as it is still on the original from 2012 or so. Thanks.

In my opinion you are throwing good money after bad. I find the kit awful. Bite the bullet and replace everything with Pyronix Enforcer equipment and relax for the next 10 years or so.

Had a quick look, made by Hikvision which is good as we have their CCTV system installed. Only slight negative appears to be the monthly subscription for the app after a year but still its reasonable. Do they provide end users with firmware updates? I think Kit 3 would cover most of my needs, possibly need an extra keypad, is there any recommended seller to purchase from?

I doubt you would ever need to upgrade the firmware. Pyronix Enforcer ticks all the boxes :)

Not sure but you may need to purchase the back-plate and cover separately from the kit! A bit daft if you do but that really is the only negative I can think of apart from the app cost of £3 per month. Well worth it though imo.

OK thanks, we live in remote town in Scotland with few local shops so have to get most things from nearest city which is around 90 miles round trip so it's good if I can do things myself where possible.

I thought that with the Visonic . I understand these are security products and need to limit what end users can do to an extent but with everything online nowadays it would be handy if you could upgrade firmware yourself.

Do you know if the kit comes with any prox tags, or do you need to purchase these separately?

Out of interest how long have you had you Powermaster installed? if it is compatible with the KP250 I would say 5+ years, there are many good alarm systems out there Pyronix been one of them but I would seriously question the motive for changing a full alarm system because your new keypad wont work on an older system. As I can see it you have several choices, 1. Get an alternate keypad (141 or 160) 2. Upgrade only your panel only. 3. Get extra keyfobs. You could of course by an Enforcer but they don't have a nice looking wireless keypad like the 250 so I am not sure why you would. They do a nice looking wired keypad.

I installed the Powermaster in late 2012 so around 8 years old. I have been on the lookout on eBay for a KP141 for a while but all seem to be ADT versions. Never thought of upgrading the panel to a newer version, do the newer panels have any upgrades or is it basically the same panel with newer software? £200 would be annoying if it was just the same with upgraded firmware. The Visonic has worked fine but not sure if it's time to upgrade to a newer system with app function etc rather than spend any more on it. Replacing the alarm shouldn't be too bad a job, just the exterior bell and all the setting up on the panel would take time. I was looking at the Euro keypad for the Enforcer with a flush mounted box, think that would look good at the door, we always use the back door so its a fairly narrow corridor and would be better than a surface mount keypad.

You can get the app on with Powerlink I’d look at that and 141 keypad.. what version panel and hardware do you have?

Sorry for late reply, on the Panel it says JS700421 v1.2.02 and JS701950 K13.027, is one the hardware version and the other the software version?
