Looking to restore some cheap ikea garden furnitures, it's Solid pine with acrylic stain (assume this is water based paint?). I have a DA for car polish and a multi tool, both have sanding accessories available, so without having to invest a sander, which one is better for the job?

Also the chair is in a grey colour which I quite like, so intend to paint it with similar colour. Is it good idea to still use water based garden furniture paint as it seem to have more colour options?

Both use the DA for the bigger areas and the multi tool to get into all the nooks and crannies the DA can't reach

I use water based with no issues although like any outside paint it will fade over time and will need to be reapplied

Thanks, I'll start with the DA then as it came with a small plate too.
