Hi all

Newbie here. I have a question re. spray painting mdf shelves / cupboards.

A number of years ago I got a carpenter to build me some alcove cupboards and drawers in my bedroom out of mdf. Before the final install he took them away and got them spray paint finished. They came back looking absolutely amazing in a matt / low sheen finish.

I am just about to fit some floating shelves above existing alcove cupboards in my lounge and I want a similar finish.

Is this something I could achieve by buying an electric spray gun similar to this and using a matt paint?

I realise my finish won't be anywhere near as good as a professional but as the cupboards are already built-in, I'm not sure what my options are. Told you I was a newbie!

Cheers

Steve

Ive just ordered the Wagner Universal Sprayer W690 direct from Wagner, was £239 currently £139.

Like foxhole say's, the paint is important and the viscosity/thickness it goes in the machine at. I will probably give the kitchen units a sand using P240 and then clean them off with a degreaser. Then im looking to use the Valspar paint from B&Q with their undercoat.
