Hi

I have a HIB Cyclone inline fan (bulbless) at the moment, right in the center of the ceiling. Duct from grill to fan is less than a meter, then from fan to outside wall is slightly more than a meter.

Even with 2 windows open and the fan on, still gets way more steamy than I'd say it should. I have a water flow switch so as soon as the shower is on the fan comes on, and runs on for about 10 minutes. Shower head to grill is probably half a meter.

Room is 1.7m by 2m.

What's the absolute best one out there? As the fan comes on with the shower, don't need humidity detection or anything fancy.

Cheers

There are many fans with higher flow rates, depends how much you want to spend?
Opening the windows reduces effectiveness.

If yours is extraction rate 210m3/hr, then it is probably sufficient, provided you turn it on before starting the shower and run it on for (try this as a start) 20 minutes.

The tray and walls are still wet and still putting water vapour into the air after you turn the shower off, and it will ventilate the room better if you have it turned on by the light switch. Then the timed period will only begin after you have towelled off, dried your hair, cut your toenails and brushed your teeth etc.

It will ventilate the room better if you close the door and windows. Sufficient fresh air to replace the steam will be drawn in through the gap under the door.

I've seen the Manrose MF100T is highly rated, which is around £50. But if I can go even better than that for say up-to £100 that's fine. Don't really want to re-core though for say 125mm or 150mm ducting!

But that means I'd always have to turn the light on to engage the fan?
Yes, so you can consciously turn it on, and it will also be turned on anyway evenings and dark days.

The more ventilation, the better.

Room needs constant ventilation if possible , certainly whenever occupied .

I think if I was redoing the bathroom I'd have 2 super quiet fans on all the time, one drawing air in and the other out.
