Erics Rubbish

Years ago I had thought I may work as a sole trader, it never happened, but I kept gear I though may be useful, some has been like 10 - 120 mm crimp pliers, some is total rubbish which will go in the bin, and some is more of interest that actually being of any use, like an old Danfoss 3060 time clock I removed from this house, replaced with a Nest gen 3.

Some I picked up in the Falklands, Algeria, or Hong Kong when I worked there, and there is some sentimental value.

I must admit when I decided to start the thread I thought it would be interesting to see if it got banned, seems I got away with it, but also genuine thoughts about what to do with it, with skip sites being closed, and local heritage railway closed, and free cycle closed although all are either now open or soon will be, but I have a trailer full and no room to put it. And even if the windscreen wiper pause controller is brand new, never been used, who would want one for a Lada Niva?

It seems that there are still places selling Lada spares.
Put it on Ebay on a free listing weekend.

Stick it on E-bay! You would be surprised what you can sell. People want to repair things instead of buying new. I sell a lot on E-bay & it is surprising how much you can get for spare parts, someimes more than a working item! I recently sold the working bit from my parents broken dishwahser for over half the price of the new one. Did a similar thing with our kitchen hob!

E-bay seems to be on a permant free listing thing at the moment (well 1000/month) I have over 300 items listed & just let then roll. You might not sell things instantly but if you box it all up so you know where it is it takes all the hassle out of selling.

Indeed so. A few years ago there was a TV programme about this. They listed all sorts of silly, seemingly useless, things (like "1 metre of old and tatty rope") and, in many cases, sold them for significant amounts of money!

Kind Regards, John

I remember that program - really money for old rope (it was picked up off the beach). But the postage cost more than he sold it for.

Yes, that vaguely rings some bells; as I said, I certainly remembered the "old rope" bit!

Kind Regards, John
