Excellent guys thankyou, I need to go down the cheaper route but so as to not compromise safety side of things.

What a lot of radio hams do for high current 12 power supplies is to use a server psu thats been modified, they have a very high amp output for their size.

Would this be any good?

You need a 13.8V power supply, vehicles do not use 12V despite the battery usually being described as 12V.

The TLC item linked to earlier would be suitable.
Suspiciously cheap unbranded tat from ebay is not.

Flameport Many thanks for your help and suggestion, it’s just the ampage I’m confused with, do I go 20amp will that will be enough for the heater and a small 12v water pump?

Add the current for the heater and pump together.
You need a power supply that can provide at least that much current, preferably a bit more.
