I'm planning on decking over an old slabbed patio and could do with a bit of advice. The slabs are 900x600x50 (about 50 of them), I don't have an easy way to get rid of them and i figured they make a pretty solid base for the deck, so i decided to deck on top.
The slabs weren't installed level, the front was about 250mm higher than the back as with the run of the garden, so i lifted them, dug it out to level(ish) and layed them back down again.
So i now have an area roughly 7m x 4.5m with pretty level slabs.
I'm going to use 50x100mm timber for the decking frame, and i'm sure it won't be 100 level to every slab when i lay it down.
What would you use for packing out any small bits under the slabs if the decking frame isn't sitting on it? I was thinking i could mix up concrete and put little pads down anywhere required.
Any advice would be appreciate.
