We're exploring extending our 1930s semi to the side (1.5m x 5m).The ground the house is on (indeed that all the neighbouring houses are on) slopes down significantly from the front backwards. So it looks like a standard 2 storey from the front, but from the back you can see the 6 split storeys.
PD for side extensions are up to 4m max height. Given that our ground drops off does the max height need to drop accordingly to observe the 4m? Or could we keep that level to take advantage of increased interior space? Neither option would change the frontal appearance. And we wouldn't build past the first side window of our unattached neighbour.
Finally are there any restrictions on design? Contemplating a sedum roof on top.
