Velux sun tunnel internal installation?

Morning all. Has anyone here installed a velux sun tunnel internally? Or is this something that must be done by getting onto the roof?

Ive fit a couple of velux loft windows, these were done internally relatively easily as you could remove the window panel to install the flashing. However looking at the velux light tunnels, it doesnt look like you can remove the glass panel. Dont fancy getting high up on a pitched roof near the ridge!

Any advice much appreciated

Hi Gasbuster, The new velux sun tunnels are removable and you probably could fit from the inside it would all depend on your roof access from the loft space. I fit this one for my neighbour about 8 years ago on his extension. The new ones have a flexible fit system so could work for you.

I was hoping you could remove the glass dome internally, squeeze through hole and tile, and refit the tunnel

It sounds plausible, on a larger size one maybe but I don't think they're designed that way, perhaps they're missing a trick there.

Ok well I have looked and I don't see how you can fit it from the inside, the last thing that goes on is the exterior glass cover which has 4 screws on the outside!
