Fibreglass roof nightmare!

Hello,
Builder installed a flat roof on a new dormer two years ago. Since installation it's leaked. He's blaming our solar panels which sit on on top yet these were installed after the leaking problems started. He said he would have used a rubber roof if he had known about the solar panels. I've attached pictures of the work. These issues don't look like they are caused by the solar panels. I can see fibreglass fibres everywhere and what almost looks like holes in between. There are some holes, cracks everywhere and the guttering looks wrong too. I've attached pictures of these. Can someone more knowledgeable than I take a look and see what they think. I'm going crazy and the damage inside to the new plaster is soooo bad

Plus, they also installed a fibreglass roof (their choice of roof not mine) on our single story back extension which had planning permission to use as a balcony. Now my logic tells me if you can't have solar panels on a flat roof made of fibreglass it's probably not a good idea to use fibreglass for a balcony either. With tables, chairs and heavy moving loads walking all over it? They were definitely aware of this as they installed doors out onto the would be balcony!

Sorry for the rant, please help!

I am no roofer but that looks a pretty crap job to me. I do know a few roofers

Well, that looks like a whole new kind of messed up and makes me angry just to look at it. From the pictures, it looks like they top-coated the trims but didn't do the rest, just put another layer of fibreglass on top of the roof? God only knows what's under that. And the whole solar panel thing is Bull Guano, GRP Roofs work really well with solar panel installations.

Complete and utter rubbish

Did they offer a guarantee with the roof?
Did they say they had been trained to install GRP?

Why would you install solar panels when you knew the roof was leaking beforehand?

That is a dreadful job! They haven't used anywhere enough resin, whilst you may be able to see the matting the surface should be smooth. I'd also question how many layers of matting they have laid - I think there should be at least 2, ideally 3 layers of the roof and 3, ideally 4 on the flat roof if it is to used as a balcony

Because they had come and 'fixed' the roof assuring me there would be no further problems.

Thank you! I knew I wasn't going crazy. Only question I have now is should I allow then back again to rectify or cut my losses and find someone else to do the job. My head says no chance but I don't have the money to throw at a roof which should have been right the first time.

Unfortunately I put my faith in a family friend so have to accept some responsibility myself for not being on the ball.

They've done the whole build, double storey side extension etc. I'm now so concerned there are other problems I'm not aware of.

Either 1 layer of 600gm or 2 layers of 450gm never any more layers than that or you will get thermal expansion issues, perhaps maybe a surface tissue for a smoother finish.

Get some more quotes in from local roofers (at least 3) they will come in and do a survey to let you know what needs to be done and the cheapest way to go about it, then get the existing roofer to foot the bill.

It dosent appear to have a resin top coat on the mesh .
