If lockdown is being reimposed because of rises in infections...

would you be first in the queue to take any new vaccine?
I would be keen to wait 6 months to establish if it was not having any serious side effects with those who take it. Vaccines do not always work in the way they are intended, that's why they normally take a decade or more to roll out.
It won't be a smarty you will be taking but a highly complex chemical

Yep, first in the queue, prepared to accept the vanishingly small risk.

Me too.

I tried to join the Oxford trials in my area but sadly I'm outside the age range and health requirements.

They're a bunch of idiot tin foil hat, conspiracy theory anti-vaxxers.

That's what's worrying.
thanks for that. one could say your a tad wet behind the ears. all that’s gone on and is going on in the world and you still see no conspiracy. for the record none of my 3 kids have had the mmr or any other vaccine for that matter and are perfectly balanced fit healthy people. my parents both routinely have flu jabs yet still get flu. maybe the ‘idiot’ is closer to home than you think.

There are no words.

Actually there are. The reason your 3 kids are perfectly balanced fit healthy people is because the vast majority of people in the country don't share your idiotic anti-vaxxer views and keep you and your kids safe by getting vaccinated.

I missed the worrying part as the article is encouraging. Some of the comments posted are based on duff info. They are for instance double blind testing. The rest well I'm inclined to blame the media and death. Death isn't the only outcome that people need to worry about. The comments also ignore the other problem - NHS overload and preventing the virus from spreading in hospitals and elsewhere such as prisons, care homes and schools. May as well throw in other institutions of one sort or another.

Curious aspect about this one - in some ways it would be easier to deal with if it made everybody feel ill.

Tell them not to bother this year and watch what happens if they catch it. Vaccination for flu is a pretty costly affair but it's been rather well established that it is worth doing.

The other thing of course is people get a bad cold and say oh I have flu. The real thing can be somewhat different.

My son had the MMR. It didn't prevent him from catching what looked like mumps to me. Hospital entry was touch and go but he recovered. Probably caught from some one who's parents believe guff via the media that has no scientific basis at all. Way way too many people have had the MMR jab for it to cause problems.
