I know I asked this some time ago but didn’t do anything with it but I am considering some external detectors on my house.

I don’t want them to set the alarm off but just to alert on the app / text / chime.

I have the texecom premier.

is this doable?

Is it a Premier Elite with the Smartcom communicator? If so, here's my experience:

The zone that the detector is wired/programmed to needs to be programmed as "Moment Key", then enable the "Monitor when armed" attribute for the zone. You can assign the chime function to the zone if you want. You can also setup a seperate area which allows the external sensors to be armed/disarmed independantly of the main house. You'll get a standard (ie no alarm noises) push notification to your phone when the zone is triggered

Yes it is. That’s what I want it to do. I was thinking of setting it up area area c as a is the house and b is the garage.

If there’s someone outside I don’t necessarily want the whole house awake until I’ve checked it out myself if that makes sense.

we’ve had a bit of petty crime in the area trying cars etc.

Thank you for your reply.

Light sleeper?

not convinced the phone notification or panel chime would wake you to be fair as standard.

That said you can change the reporting code, so that the panel look at it as monitor only and no bell but the app could trigger a loud alert on your phone.(Texecom Connect) With Texecom sounds turned on in the app.

The reporting code Alarm Event 146 Key tube, to either (Audible, Burglary or perimeter) and update the report codes.
Only for the more competent users of wintex.

I have a PIR chime that sounds in the bedroom, I've had to set it to chime twice, because the first one might wake me up, but I may not know why until it chimes again.

It's separate from the alarm keypad bleeper, which sounds softly when an external door is opened.
