Replacement Spring Bathrooms side-entry cistern lever

Hi. I'm looking for advice about a replacement side-entry cistern lever for a Spring Bathrooms toilet. I have found what looks to be a suitable product on eBay (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SPRING-B...968154&hash=item2a9c535fff:g:8pMAAOSwZ8tbq1gp) and Amazon (https://www.amazon.co.uk/SPRING-BATHROOOMS-FORDHAMS-Replacement-Cistern/dp/B00BS6PAX2) but I've been unable to establish the length of the arm and I'm also nervous about it being plastic. There are metal ones available but I was shocked at some of the prices being asked especially as it's for a rental property.

The original one was cast aluminium and snapped when being operated. I've attached 3 images, two of which show added dimensions because the camera lens appears to have distorted the image making the measurements against the ruler look different from what they really are.

Can anyone help with sourcing a suitable product and/or give me reassurance about a plastic one? Thanks. Peter

Plastic one looks good to me, shouldn't be a problem.

Plastic will age quicker than metal.

i 've the same toilet, pristine condition but the handle broke, same place; plumber quoted £150 + vat for part plus fitting then said go buy a new toilet :-0
Eco warrior in me did some intense research found fab guy [email protected] who sold me an original part for £24.95 + £3.95 postage chuffed or what to stop another loo going in landfill!

I have a Spring WC with the same paddle, I converted mine to a Flapper flush, but the paddle lever eventually corroded and broke. I think it is some zinc-based alloy with a decorative plating.

I fitted an (I think) Ideal Standard lever which is a fair substitute, though it lacks the bolt underneath, so when the cistern overfilled, water leaked out of the screw hole.

this is an Ideal Standard one. Not sure if it is identical to mine, but looks similar. It came with a plastic retaining nut, I think

I bought the one from Amazon (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00BS6PAX2/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) July 2020 for £17.80 with free P&P. It fitted okay and did the job it was installed to do. I don't know how long it'll last though as I no longer live at that property but it seemed to be robust enough
