Hi, I have full rights to distribute a paint brush with a removable bristle head.
It works by clicking a button on the head and this allows the bristle head to be removed and replaced quickly. Meaning you can paint with a different colour or paint without washing there and then. This is also good for the environment as the handle can be kept and only the head will be replaceable when needed.

I am researching if this is this something you would use? the retail price would be between £7-£9.

thanks

Welcome to DIYnot.
Sizes available? Pictures?
At that price methinks you'll have a problem competing with disposable brushes.

For me, personally, no point.

A, have paint brushes that are 20+ years old and still going strong because they are looked after..
B, It's very rare that I need to change colour paint. If I'm doing something like the ceiling white and plan to do the walls a colour, I have to wait for the ceiling to dry before can do the walls anyway. I also would've been finished with the white brush and it would need to be washed asap - see the bit about having 20 year old paint brushes!

To be honest, if it was something that we really did need, we'd probably have it already..

Thanks for the comments. We have 2” and 4” brushes. Our testing with users has told us that people really like the brush as it gives them a better stroke and holds a lot of paint.

The downside is most people are buying a pack of cheap brushes and then throwing them away. If you are not conscious of the environment or passionate about reducing your impact then it’s not a big deal.

Years ago with I would fastidiously wash my brushes for use next time. Nowadays I'll still wash a brush if I've been using emulsion but if it's anything else I just chuck 'em out and use a new one on the next job (and that's not a cheap brush but a Harris or similar). Changeable brush heads! Is this thread a wind up? Kind of crap you might see on QVC or similar.

No it’s not a wind up and wouldn’t be a very funny one if it was. People are throwing away millions of brushes into landfill every year, I am interested to get feedback whether people would use them or not. Thanks

Trigger from only fools and horses had the same idea.
It never caught on.

Not something I would use, if Im useing various size brushes for same colour I pop them into a snap lid air tight container . I do the same with roller sleeves , if you place a wet rag in with them they can stay usable for weeks.

It would only result in fewer handles being thrown away - not really a problem for the environment, if wood.

So, what you are proposing is an everlasting handle with no improvement for the painty bit.

Problem also is that the chemicals or water needed to clean the heads means that they can be less green than chucking the cheap dirty brush away. I keep rollers/ brushes loaded and in a bag overnight, then bin the thing.
Cleaning a brush in water uses about 10 gallons
