Thanks for this.

I managed to get them in and this set off a phone call to my mobile. However this was short lived, the wires themselves appear to be too short and won't go into the terminal block without slipping out. This is probably how they came out the first time.

Is there a particular type of extension cable I should be looking for, so I could extend? I have a spare telephone cable at home but the wires are different colours e.g brown

Will this just be a case of connecting some telephone wire to what is already there? I can barely get any of the stripped wire under the screw terminal, which makes it slip out.

I have some telephone wire which is blue, white and orange. Is there a way to connect them up to the red and green, or can I just use any. I will just have to cut out a section of the wire and not use the plug
