White slavers often employed coastal tribes to go inland and round up members of other tribes for shipment as slaves. Much safer to spend a few trinkets and get some else to do the dangerous rounding up work.

Inter tribal hostility and/or warfare and/or slavery existed before white explorers and/or white slave traders first landed on the beaches.

Yep and slavery was a facet of quite a few European nations in bygone eras. All races can be equally ****ty to their fellow man.

Darwin was right on a lot of things, including evolution and slavery. He was wrong on the difference between races. To give him the benefit of the doubt it's not an easy thing to unpick nature from nurture, we've still got people failing to understand that now.

Are you talking about the theory of evolution?

I fail to see what "survival of the fittest" has to do with colonisation.

I.e. travel thousands of miles, kill some of the population and steal their wealth.

As Starkey recently said so inelegantly, the colonised also continue to survive.

Darwin was a naturalist in the 1800s.To pick the odd sentence,not knowing the full context,and assuming his use and meaning of words is exactly the same as now is a huge assumption...Even with 21st century negative spin on his words it is difficult to conclude racism.

Funnily enough the nazis did the same thing...
(only they were simply into annihalation of a race)

As did the british in their empire...
(divide and rule which still exists)

If a person says that something happened it does not mean that person justifies that that something happened.

Just to make it clear to you...... race hatred is not a new thing and black on black race hatred ( tribe on tribe ) existed before white people arrived in those countries. The actions of Hitler and the NAZI Party were white on white race hatred.

Jewish is a religion.

The rest are also doubtful and linked more to language as, indeed, is Semitic.
