Hi,

I bought 4 years ago an internal bi-fold door at Wickes, like that :
https://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-Wob...ed-6-Panel-Internal-Bi-fold-Door/p/9000187561
My tenants managed to twist and deform the top rail. Although Wickes sells a replacement track kit, it has been out of stock for months (https://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-Replacement-Moulded-Door-Bi-fold-Fitting-Kit-762mm/p/187489).

Where can I find a compatible track? Screwfix sells some Henderson track kits of Screwfix, would they work? It is double the price though.
Damage is subtle but enough for the door to move out and catch when we try to slide it. I tried to re-shape the rail with pliers but it does not work, it is too hard. All the other bits of the door are fine, only the rail is damaged.

Thanks.
Letty

Here are the pictures.
Subtle damage from the second screw till the end of the rail which is over 20cm. Enough for the door not to stay in place when you want to pull it open full or close back.
I tried to straighten with pliers but the metal is so hard that it does not move, I'll break the frame before. I doubt anyway that I can straighten it good enough for the door to have a smooth move. Need to change this as next tenant might force it and I will loose the door as well.
Don't have a professional account to go to Howdens but can buy on line somewhere else.

Hello,
Yes, this is what I would like to do but where can I find such a track kit? I don't want to have to change any bits on the door or on the floor as I have a nice laminate flooring which would be damaged. Are all the kits similar, just need the rail? Wickes' ones are out of stock, where else can I buy a track kit please?
Thanks.

I would remove that top rail and see I could straighten it out, it doesn't look so bad as to need replacing.

I would remove the top rail put a piece of wood in the track the same width , place a piece of wood over the bit you want to bend back and go to town on it arse with a hammer

How did predictive text come up with this instead of 'with'?:LOL::LOL:

Hi,
I fixed my problem by unscrewing the rail and turned it around right to left, left to right, which seems to work fine as the undamaged part of the rail is placed now where the bi-fold door hangs.
Harry, I tried to straighten it out but the metal was so hard that it did not go back to its shape at all.
Thanks to all.
