Vertical radiator TRV position?

I’m doing this myself and never had a vertical rad before

Do these valves ok or not?

Be carefull and read the instructions with the rad , some have a baffle fitted and the pipes are connection sensitive , or in simple terms the Flow can only go on one side unlike a conventional rad where it doesnt matter

do the valves look ok on the sides like that?

I had some TRV's fitted as you show, the problem was reading the display, in the future you may want to fit some thing like this
EQUIVA_EHTCLASSICN_03.jpg
which gives more control, and you want to be able to read the display, however TRV's will still work as shown.
