Not one of mine but my brother in law managed to give himself an electric shock tonight by sticking some of those pvc stick on tiles to his existing kitchen tiles.

Instead of cutting the tiles to size and sticking them around the cooker isolator, he unscrewed the front of the isolator for the cooker (without turning the supply off!) and managed to give himself an electric shock.

Thankfully he is not seriously hurt but I don't know what he was thinking!

This suggests that the wires may not be fully inserted into the switch receptacles and that he touched one of them.

It also suggests that it needs further investigating with the power turned off at the consumer unit/fusebox.

Bro in law is fine now, I'm not nearby but a responsible adult went round and reattached faceplate, most importanly with the power off!

Your BIL should have also gone to A&E for a check up. It's quite easy, and normal, to say you are fine but an electric shock can scar your heart or damage blood vessels which may not seem apparent at the time.

He should also realise by now that you ALWAYS isolate the power before tinkering with electrics. Painful lesson to learn.
