Plaster shortage

this is ok to use, but very expansive, £25 for 10m2 coverage at 1mm, whereas multi is only £7ish for same coverage at 2mm. The finish is not as fine/smooth as multi finish, they have another 'light' version which has better finish.

You are right, but to a diy'er no mixing involved with all that entails and you have the right consistency.

Is multi finish now readily available? If not, what’s the best way of getting hold of about 10 bags?

no . slow . find someone with a trade account with a merchant . most places will only let you have a set amount.

Mixing is simple though. The difficult bit is knowing how to control the suction on wall, and how to spread plaster tight and flat whilst not leaving any marks. If you want a smooth finish you'll need at least 2 tubs (ie, ProRoll max first, followed by ProRoll light). I'd say go for it if you only have small area to skim, but if you need many tubs to get the job done, might be better off getting a pro in.

Jewsons, Wicks, Selco Travis et al are “looking after“ regulars. So even if a place has a delivery I can’t get any. I wonder How many of these regulars are the ones selling on EBay and Facebook at scalped prices?

BG are posting updates now saying production is higher than Pre-lockdown. So where is it all going. Frustratingly I just have one room left to do but I am not going to pay over £30 a bag out of principal.

Fekin old boys network and corruption. “Thistle Gate”

The BnQ where we live, now has 5 pallets of Multi Finish, and 2 pallets of Bonding coat,, plus loads of thin coat corner beads, (2.4 and 3mtr lengths), plus Thick coat beads, Belcast beads, stop beads etc, the place, plaster wise is now booming,,, yehhh.

UPDATE: Job all done, used 4 tubs in all and a bit of sanding and looks fine.
