I'm wanting to replace an old IP66 rated outdoor socket with a new ones as it's start to wear out and look untidy. Do you think it's worth paying the premium price for the MK IP66 13A 2-GANG DP WEATHERPROOF OUTDOOR SWITCHED SOCKET or would you recommend a lesser brand?

It'll be used to plug in a robot lawnmower that'll be outside for most of the season. Is it necessary to fit one with PASSIVE RCD?

Thanks for your help.

First off I'm not a spark

I would think the RCD would depend on whether the circuit it is on has one at the consumer unit.

I have a lesser brand outdoor socket that has given no issues for 3 years but the mk could be better and perhaps some other posters will come along with their experiences.whether it isworth it depends on your experience with the one you already you already have.
