They don't even know where they've 'locked down'. Shows how nothing outside the London/SE bubble is of any consequence.

Northern England? it's absolutely no where near the north

So is Liverpool in West Yorkshire .... LOL

It's North of the Watford Gap, everyone know's that's the magic line :) :)

London is north of Worthing, Eastbourne, Bognor Regis and Brighton.

North of Watford, Watford gap isn't near Watford, it's about 60 miles further north.

I've only ever heard of the expression with Gap, but saw this:

"There is a well known expression, "North of Watford", which is used to mean the north of England, especially a place remote from London.[4] This is often taken to mean "North of Watford Gap" because of the Watford Gap services being a main stopping point on the M1 motorway"

I've learned something new today! :)

Yep, we like to give a good buffer between ourselves and southern wet wipery.
Funnily enough the opposite view is that apparently the south needs that 'de-dummified zone' (y)

North London where my daughter lives is too far north for me and don’t get me started on that load of Kent ‘gimmee six' inbreds south of the river. Shouldn’t charge us to cross over to Kent at the Thames crossing but should charge that lot double for the privilege of entering Essex!

Now we've got all the northern monkeys coming down here on holiday our R number is going up and we may be locked down as well, should cut the M5 below Bristol

We've just done a swap for all the southern snowflakes coming up here, should shut the M1 at Watford gap.
