I guessed as much :)

Reminds me - did you have a good birthday BBQ?

Yes thanks I did!

We had a Spanish theme:

chorizo in red wine
patatas bravas
spanish style chicken skewers
good old english bangers (which I smoked)
tomato / mozzerella / avocado salad
green salad with olives / endamame beans / lettuce etc

:):)

My Spanish sis in law would be impressed with that lot :)
Spanish wine too I hope?!

There is a pub at the other end of my terrace, I will not go in there EVER!

Not because its a druggy pub, but because every other time has been a let down (offensive drunks, warm beer, overpriced etc.).
I will also not go there because its full of the lurgy.

:)

I dont like masking up, but I have a solution: I avoid it by not going anywhere that needs to do so....and when I do, its rare so I tolerate it.

You might not have the choice to be "going anywhere" come September, if the news reports are accurate .....

Pubs (among other things) might have to close, to allow schools to safely reopen.

Which supports the point I was making yesterday.

(BBQ was OK too, but I was feeling a bit under the weather, so didn't put much effort into it.)

Yes It's a worry - until a vaccine comes along we've got to live with the virus, keeping up social distancing whilst trying to keep the economy afloat.

we're still being told to mask up in one, two, or more years' time.......
As said...it is not difficult. No more tricky than wearing a work uniform.Hard hat.Hat of any sort ..Safety gear etc.Do you moan every time you need to change clothes?

It's more than that, you bell end.

Do you miss hugging a friend you haven't seen in a while (man hug!), or shaking them by the hand?

Stop fixating on the mask, like it's the salvation of humanity, while only being a trifling inconvenience.
Because it isn't.

Lost the argument so you make a huge swerve to divert to something completely different.Probably dawned on you wearing a mask is no big deal so you divert to hugging ,shaking hands etc

I really don't think it's that big a deal - you mention you miss hugging/shaking hands a lot but these things are so fleeting, over in seconds. Not much to miss and it won't be forever.

I just think, while inconvenient, the best friend you can be is one that keeps his mates safe and that's keeping a respectful distance and wearing a mask.
