Have been telling porky pies over this Covid caper

No surprise tbh

Official figures 14000 deaths

Documents leaked at great risk to the whistle blower ( would probably be eexecuted) puts the figure at over 40000

They also had cases a month before they stated

Perhaps no surprise but it isn’t clear to me why they would hide the true scale of the deaths. China I can understand. Is there something I have missed that would explain the coverup?

Hide the scale of the problem from the population

May be?

With a population of 84,000,000, it's still considerably better performance than UK's.
Not so bad for one of your so-called 'backward' countries.
If a so-called 'backward' country can achieve that, what does it say about the UK's performance?

I see the BBC has amended its reporting.
At first they reported that Iran was the worst hit country other then China.
I thought  that can't be right. I thought BBC had been taken over by Fox News.
But they've now amended it to
The official numbers still make Iran the worst-hit in the Middle East.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-53598965
They still omit to mention that it is the third most populated country in the Middle East. Almost exactly the same population, by numbers, as the second, Turkey.

Also, these figures match the excess mortality figures.
The discrepancy between the official figures and the number of deaths on these records also matches the difference between the official figure and calculations of excess mortality until mid-June.
Excess mortality refers to the number of deaths above and beyond what would be expected under "normal" conditions.
So, if any comparison is to be made, we should compare it to the figure of UK, in excess of 60,000 deaths.

40,000 sounds like an underestimate of the true numbers.
The Iranians like to live close together in large family groups, this would facilitate the spread of the virus.

A weird assumption given the matching of that figure to the calculated excess deaths.

The Iranians like to live close together in large family groups, ...
You have personal experience of how Iranians live?

I think you are just displaying prejudice, because this story gives you an opportunity to do so, and you are grasping that opportunity with both hands.

Given that Public Health England may have overstated UK deaths by up to 100%, I'd say it says very little.

The excess mortality rate puts the figures at over 60,000 for UK.
That measure is more reliable than any government's figures.

Perhaps it also illustrates how all governments are capable of not issuing accurate figures.

Nothing to do with prejudice, lots of societies like to live close together in large family groups.
The Irish and British used to have large families and have extended family networks close by.
In these foreign countries, children are an economic asset, they have them out working in the fields, looking after old folk ect.
Nothing wrong with living together in large family groups.
Why do you see everything through the prism of racism.

UK has been telling porky pies too

Cases higher than stated

Deaths higher than stated

Cases long before lockdown started

People with Covid knowingly sent to care homes

Yeah, let's focus on Iran, rather than get our own mess in order!

Iran is not so different to UK, as far as rural versus urban population is concerned.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has a total population of approximately 80 million. They live .... approximately 74 % of the population live in urban areas ... Remaining 26% are inhabitants of rural areas
http://www.fao.org/iran/fao-in-iran/iran-at-a-glance/en/

In 2014 the mid-year population estimate ... for England was 54.3 million, of which 9.3 million (17.0 per cent) lived in rural areas and 45.0 million (83.0 per cent) lived in urban areas.
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/rural-population-and-migration/rural-population-201415
As this was just for England, it is safe to assume that data from the other countries would appreciably alter this percentage.

But your views are based on your prejudicial assumptions, not personal experience or genuine reports.

your all deluded .the only relevant facts and figures in your tiny minds are what the media and government put there.
