Anyone on here going to give it a go? Our local Indian, Passage to India, is taking part and has been going for as long as I’ve lived round here (30 years) so might see if I can persuade Mrs Mottie to go along to help 'em out. Mind you, she does give me a filthy look every time I ask her if she’d like to be taken up the Passage. :cautious:

I haven't been to a restaurant or a bar since the lock down began 13th March.
I don't intend to any time soon, bearing in mind that visits to a restaurant at least twice per week would have been normal.

The only socialising has been one funeral (not Covid related) and one BBQ two weeks ago, with limited number of guests, and hand-sanitiser used on entry.

We’ve had one takeaway and one sit down since March. Fish & Chips both time. Takeaway I had to wait outside while they cooked it, sit down was outside. This place - on a sunny day, they set up in the car park.

I was invited out last Friday, it was something that I couldn't refuse to attend.
The place was heaving. Apart from the sanitiser on entry and the arrows on the floor, it was just like a normal pub/restaurant on a Friday night, packed full of strangers eating and drinking with no face masks or any other sign of social distancing.

Will give it a miss. Not going to start spending money now - there is still too much at risk, both health and financially if either I or my wife lose our jobs. Need to keep saving every penny (apart from buying swimming pools, range cookers, glass splashbacks, new shower rooms and building materials to renovating the guest room, of course).

We're still on the right part of the K, hoping we stay there!

We are just (in about 6 minutes) off to a caravan in Barmouth. I intend eating out most days/evenings.

Just returned (yesterday) from a lads break in Conwy/Llandudno. Wales was still in secure mode meaning we had to sit outside the boozers all night. Serving lads and lasses brought beer to the table. Max 8 to a table. Get's uncomfortably cold when the sun goes down and the breeze picks up. Nice to see that's all changed now.

Will you be calling in to Shell Island?
Beautiful part of the country, enjoy your holiday.

As usual a very confused message, on one hand the gov are talking about reclosing pubs/eateries etc so as they can reopen schools, (hence they know there is a danger in these places) - on the other hand they're enticing us out with a bit of free money.

we're not going out anytime soon :(

I'd be using it, if I was in the UK

wont be back until end of the month earliest.

That made me laugh. (y)

I've been to restaurants around half a dozen times since the restrictions eased. I've not felt unsafe in any of them. Have to book ahead / provide contact details, hand sanitiser before going in, tables removed to keep customers far enough apart, much improved ventilation + windows & doors wide open, disposable paper menus & wine lists and napkins, one person in the loos at a time with socially distanced queues and improved cleaning, everything gets cleaned including chairs as soon as a party leaves, staff wearing masks and/or visors, menus are a bit more limited presumably to aid distancing in the kitchen. I'd say all of the places I've been have been almost full to their new capacity. The difference is the restaurants don't seem to be turning the tables over more than once per evening/lunch service. I'm intending taking full advantage of the eat out scheme to try some of the more up-market places I wouldn't usually go to.

I think people are getting used to not eating out and this has a big impact on the economy.

True.

I'm choosing to not go out to restaurants and pubs, not that I did much anyway, but Im pleased that there are quite a few who are as they do help support the economy.

Im helping the economy by buying more online! -Im trying to avoid amazon / ebay etc, Im buying direct from suppliers websites where possible.
