Was in a shop today and just seen one person with a face nappy on.
I'm still waiting to be accosted by some of these kow towers.
Saturday, it's kow tow or foxtrot oscar.
More pointlessness today.
Took second - born to local farm shop café for sit - down, eat - in, Belly Buster.
Fat bloke on first table looks up from his breakfast and says "you gotta wear a mask to come in here" (it's ten feet to the counter, and a separate aisle from the one for the farm shop proper).
Girl on till says the same.
Neither of us have one on us (missus' car, rather than mine). The girl let's us off, fat bloke continues to chunter, we sit down and order.
Over the next thirty minutes, a steady stream of couples and families come in. Some wear masks , some don't, and none of them have anything said.
I can only presume it's one rule for the regulars, and another for the occasional visitors.....

A refreshing afternoon. My first time sailing although I've had power boats in the past.
I was surprised by the strength needed to control the tiller at times, and the responsiveness of the tiller, you don't get that in power boating.
We got the gunnels wet a couple of times. It was very blustery.
I'm not sure it's a past-time that I would invest in, but happy to participate from time to time.
It's too fiddly and fussy with all the ropes compared to power boating, but maybe more exiting at times, and requires more knowledge, experience and effort.
Apparently the skipper had to wait 9 years to secure a mooring!

What were you sailing? - I'm guessing something around 25' if it has a tiller? btw there are no ropes on boats. it's a sheet, halyard or line . I've done power and sail. I like sail, though power is always nicer when you are docked. Done over 200 miles in the last few days, on 40 litres of diesel, the chap filling up next to me just put 600 euros in his charter cat. They seem to be the best/worse of both worlds. You don't find many in the UK due to mooring costs.
You could rent a flat for the cost of my UK mooring.

I didn't ask about the model.
I knew about there being no ropes, but there's an awful lot of 'em, whatever they're called, and there's a specific place for each and everyone of 'em, talk about tidiness! And they're still all over the place!
I did tell the skipper it'll be no good telling me to haul in the 'whatever rope' needed hauling in, because I didn't know the English term for 'em, and I definitely don't know the French term for 'em. I said, "just point to the one you mean."
Actually, the skipper referred to them collectively as 'cordage' which translates as rope.
