New Build: Builders Drilled In Wrong Place, Left A Hole In Outside Wall

I have a hole in the outside wall, underneath the kitchen window / corner where the boiler is. I presume this was drilled in error, because there is another one on the other side of the same wall where an overflow pipe exists.

I measured the depth of the rogue hole and it goes in 33cm. I don't know if this is hitting brick, or if it's hitting the plastering, or the back of a kitchen cabinet.

1. Has this hole (which has been there since the house was built 2 1/2 years ago) caused any damage?

2. Could this hole cause damage in the future if left alone?

3. Do I need to just use sealant on the outside or should something be done to the inside such as the inside wall or the cavity?

It's a neat hole. You say it goes in 330mm? At that depth, you should see what you have poked in, Halfway across the kitchen! Fill it with silicon and then forget about it

Or mortar.
330mm is cavity wall plus a bit of dot and dab.

A hole lot of fuss.

Fill it. Move on.

Mortar outside to blend in. Mastic, polyfilla or plaster inside.

Thanks for the advice. Sealing the outside will be easy enough.

The inside is going to be tricky to get to as that wall is behind a corner unit where the boiler and sink is. I won't be able to get behind the units to seal that end.

Presumably there is some device with a thin, foot long tube that I can use to seal the inside from the outside?

But what about NHBC warranty? I don't want to do anything that could affect the warranty and / or cause damp issues further down the line. Should I just contact NHBC instead to see if they will instruct the builder to fix the issue?

its a cavitiy wall -even left alone it wont leak, the water if got across the outer brick would run down the cavity.

just fill the outside -or stick a piece of overflow pipe in it, to look like an.....overflow. If that had already been done, you prob would never have noticed

The fact that a job like this has even made it to the top of your priority list means your house is in pretty good shape. As said, Don’t worry about inside, just fill outside.
