Hi
Ive fitted a new toilet but the cistern keeps filling and I can’t work out how to adjust it. Ive tried everything. Even when I pull the float up /down manually the water doesn’t shut off? What am I missing? Ive moved the float up and down, changed the settings on the outlet. The instructions don’t actually match what I have as far as I can see!

help!

Check for debris in your float valve washer, or check there’s a washer even there - unlikely to have been missed but can’t rule it out.

Hi

where is the float valve? Is that the one in the middle that is on the outlet valve (seen lots of videos about that). Can’t see a washer anywhere on the inlet one but not sure where to look.

Float/inlet valve is where the water fills. Circled blue in photo.

Ok I’ll look. Where would the Washer be? Or debris? Sorry. The rest went in no bother and this is just annoying me now.

Under the top bit, should just unclip from 2 lugs. Debris would be there if anywhere. How did you adjust it?

Many many ways. The instructions say to Unclip the float and move it down below the fill line but I can’t find any clip. I thought it meant to move the brown thing down so I did and that didn’t work. I then adjusted the white hexagon screw thing to move the float up and down. Nothing. Moving the top bit up and down like old toilets didn’t work either. I’m thinking I need to remove the whole inlet valve but it was a pre installed one. But I can only assume this clip is somewhere I can’t see.

Still no joy. Ive taken the float arm off. Still cannot see anything. Does anyone know how this particular one works? or should I admit defeat and deem it faulty.
