Hi everyone. I have a Scantronic 9448+ which is probably passed its sell by date. A couple of keys are getting very difficult to use. I've had the panel off and cleaned both the rubber buttons and the circuit board a couple of times over the past few years, but it has reached the point at which this has little effect.

What would you suggest I replace it with? I would like to be able to connect with the alarm with an App.

I'd also like to add 3 CCTV cameras, 2 rear, 1 front, but not necessarily linked to the alarm, which I could view through our phones. I have a small server in the house which runs my VPN and routes my wifi. I'm quite capable of doing both jobs, but a bit out of date as to where things are at.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received as the domestic authorities are getting a little exasperated with things, if you know what I mean.

There are plenty of threads on here regarding CCTV and alarm systems with app control. In general, you'll find Hikvision CCTV and the Pyronix Euro 46/Enforcer or Texecom Premier Elite being recommended in terms of the kit. As for what intruder equipment would be best for your install specifically is hard to say without seeing the existing setup ie the location of the existing control panel (middle of hall or understairs etc) are you able to re-use the cabling, do you need additional wireless devices... Quite a few considerations.

One thing I would definitely suggest for the CCTV would be to keep it as a standalone system and use a seperate NVR/DVR rather than software running on a server (unless it's a dedicated server for the CCTV running a VMS and using surveillance rated drives; probably a tad OTT for three cameras on a house)

Thanks for that scott1980. The alarm system is quite simple, just 4 PIR and the front door, with the upstairs switched out overnight, so nothing complicated, and no additional wires or equipment required, using the existing location in downstairs hallway. It would be good though to be able to get notifications via an app.
