Just got the manuals of of the car.
The original Castrol leaflet given to us when the car was sold new says we must use Castrol SLX Professional Fuel Saver 0W-30.
The Honda manual says that it should be 0W-30 to either A1/B1, A3/B3 or A5/B5. Unless it has a DPF, when we are advised to use C2/C3.
Ours doesn't (AFAICT) have a DPF.
The Castrol Edge 0W-30 we have been using is listed as C2/C3.

I think Castrol push Edge because it is very expensive and they want your money.
If you follow the spec from the manufacturer's instruction book, you will be getting oil that's as good as the engine was designed for. What more could you want?
On-schedule oil and filter changes are more important than oil brand.

Go to your local factors, see which oil brands they stock then visit the website and use the oil checker app to see which oil they quote for your Honda. Then away back the factors and get a 5L tub of that.

Who is your nearest trade motor factors?
Mine which is on the doorstep is called Spartan.
They are now owned by tetrosyl, I wouldn't touch the tj filters but the carlube oil is reasonable quality
They will get you premium filters next day so it’s not too bad.

Not in my experience. Manufacturers I have worked with insisted on a code. You are more likely to be able to tell from the actual shape, dimensions, indentations on the product, ( if you can find both filters at the same time ) as it will be identical to the o.e. item except for paint, part no. and logos
I recently bought 6 filters for my Peugeot Bipper (Fiat engine, built in Turkey 
)
The motor factors couldn't supply the correct item (neither could Peugeot initially) so I went to the Citroen parts distribution centre in Cramlington -- not too far from me.
The first 3 were in genuine Citroen boxes with only a code, made in China
The next 3 are Purflux made in Slovenia, using a different code.
Comparing like for like, they seem identical but I really have a problem knowingly buying Chinese stuff just now - if there's a choice of course.

Unfortunately almost everything is made in china.
However for your bipper I would advise either purchasing Fram or CoopersFIaam filters or as the purflix brand but they don't tend to be kept in the UK.
All of the above names mentioned are owned by Sogeffi filtration which have factories in Slovenia, Poland, and possibly other European countries
My filter seems to be almost unique amongst the Bipper clan.....motor factors list three variations but mine must be the fourth
Citroen supplied me with the first batch and claimed that a new filter cap was also needed, so on it went.....absolutely the same as the original so don’t know what that was about!
The Purflux batch came from a motor factors in Germany - can’t remember their name but I’ve enough to keep me going for a while.

Have been looking for a couple of weeks for an o.e. quality filter for my Vectra and in two outlets have found the Purflux, but both were around € 15 (
£ 13.50 ) which I found ridiculous. The other outlet ( only three in 30 mile radius up here ) supposedly stocks Mann as well as own brand, but never has mine in stock ( price around € 6 )
It puzzles me greatly how the Purflux outlets were convinced to buy and stock at such anomolous pricing. I'll actually have to talk to the supposed Mann stockist ( Norauto - like Halford's ) and see if they will order one for me. Nothing else to buy at the moment , so postage would be high for one item from the Net.
