Need to seal tile backing board on the edges where they join.

Need an adhesive that fills the gap, joins and is waterproof - I cam across STS megastrength adhesive but never heard of the brand.

There's tape to be used with most backing boards as well as the glue

I was going to use these type boards with mechanical fixings and dot and dab onto brick and then glue the edges with a high strength PU Adhesive.

What are they? They look similar to Marmox & joints have to be taped with that.

Look similar to marmox

Ideal for two main purposes; as an excellent waterproofing surface to fix either wall or floor tiles and as a excellent heat insulation for underfloor heating systems.

Its for a showerbath.

When you mean taped - is that using a tanking kit or just a special tape that is waterproof?

The BBA docs for those backer boards will be based on them being fitted to manufacturers specifications rather than to the design of a pair of randoms on Youtube. So read them, do what they say & if you run into problems down the line you'll have somewhere to go with your complaint.
Just a little heads-up- waterproof tile adhesive is not waterproof. It should maintain adhesion under wet conditions but that isn't the same thing at all.
EDIT If you're fitting 100 bathrooms then saving £50 on tape on each job is £5k in your bin & you're long gone if any problems show up. On one bathroom it doesn't stack up as well...

Thanks for that. I was planning on buying them online but I think I will pay a bit more and buy from a local provider, however the ones the tile shop showed me were just unbranded and he took them out of a box to show me. Where will I find the BBA docs for unbranded items?

It isn't the BBA approval you need (though that is a useful indicator that the panels have been tested a bit. You need the manufacturers fitting instructions- if the manufacturer hasn't bothered to prepare any fitting instructions then ask yourself how likely they are to stand behind their product if it fails to do what you want it to do
Material costs look high on real branded backing boards, sealing tape, glue etc. but they fade into nothing against the time and material costs of tiling.
