Much point in removing a leaky shower valve to get a fix?

I've a 2015 Triton Dart eco. It's leaking water when off and a bit stiff to turn on/off

Looks like I can (just..) get a spare cartridge at £130.00.

Are the chances slim of any stripping/cleaning/greasing etc fixing it? Can't say I've ever disassembled one but if I take my time I imagine I could try or would I be better just buying the new guts?

Thanks as always

1. For £130 I'd give dismantling, greasing and re-assembling a go!
2. There's a pretty reasonable diagram at https://www.tritonshowers.co.uk/sho.../dart-eco-concentric-mixer-shower?spares=true
3. Water off, prise the cap out of the centre of the knob, and dismantle.
4. You should have the post April 2010 version, so the cartridge comes to bits.
5. Soak all internals in scale remover such as Kilrock (assuming you have hard water).
6. Check all O rings, and use silicone grease to lubricate all round each ring, including the groove it runs in.
7. If any rings look flattened / worn - try and replace. Doubt you'll get the O rings form Triton, you'll have to measure them and get them via the internet. Not easy to measure, you'll need vernier calipers to measure cross section, diameter of groove and inside diameter of what it runs in.
8. Reassemble.
9. Water on, fingers crossed - you could have saved yourself £130!

Thanks for the guidance. I’m thinking may well be worth a go. Yes, looks as though the cartridge is in a few bits. I’m amazed there aren’t kits selling “O” rings to help people do this.

I’ll probably try next week.
