I would like a security (flood) light that comes and stays on between certain hours

After the prescribed hours, I would like the light to come on when it detects motion

Does such a product exist? If so, could someone point me in the direction of these items

You could do it using an external PIR unit, and wire in parallel with a timer switch.

I use a wifi socket to supply the safety light, will not call it a security light as It makes it easier for intruders, but it switches on at set time, and if I arrive home late can switch on with my phone.

It is on my to do list to swap the other flood lights to wifi controlled, I find the PIR is a pain, I walk too slow, so get plunged into darkness. I was thinking of using an old consumer unit to house some sonoff units, in the under stairs cupboard as that is where existing switches are, but not really studied the units yet.

I think there are units that can do as you want, where a wifi switch can be linked to a PIR, but the Enegenie I use now is not cheap.

The timer contacts and the PIR contacts need to be in paralell with each other, and then the combination of both needs to be in series with the light fitting.

Home Taster Pack.jpg It seems sold as a taster pack MIHO106 by Energenie, I would guess other makes do the same, it allows PIR, time, remote controls, and internet to be integrated together, not a great fan of Energenie MiHome as expensive and you need to use IFTTT for some functions, but it does show you can do it.

@ericmark the wifi socket was a great shout.

Picked up one by 'Kasa' and it's right on the money.

The plug can be controlled from anywhere in the world, can set timers etc. It's perfect
