I have problems with this step late at night taking the dog out. It's uo then down the other side. Was wondering if I could cut the bottom of the Door sill. This door originally led to outside but now leads to a conservatory. I am sure the door sides are well fixed to the wall to prevent movement. Any thoughts on this?

my thoughts
you would have a heck off a draught unless your conservatory stays warmish
you will have probably several bricks under the frame
you will need a transition about 12" wide that will probably be on a slope and will need a lip off perhaps 6mm each side to Finnish off the tiles and laminate
will be really awkward to cut out without damaging the floor or tiles

It looks like 180mm cill and its difficult to say where the door is fixed in relation to the total thickness of the wall/cavity etc, is the sitting on the outer skin or the inner, my guess its a bit of both hence the need for a 180mm cill most are just 150mm, removing the cill might only expose the top of the outer skin of brickwork anyway so you'd still have something to step over, lopping the cill off is easy with a multi tool but like I said all your doing is exposing the course of bricks under it

The grey parts will have an 'L' shaped bracket underneath and they go under the door frame and a few inches up so you won't be able to remove the threshold without butchering it out
that answers my question i never fit through the bottom off the door frame because off the dpm but any in his door would be hidden but not possible if its a fixed component
To drain any water that might build up in the channel, hence it's not really recommended to fix down through the threshold and cill
