I'm going to attempt to fit my waste and kitchen tap, however i have a couple of queries

Regarding the waste, from the bottom, is it best to

1. use a solvent weld fitting
2 then use a 90 degree solvent weld fitting
3. Then a straight piece going up
4. Then a 90 degree fitting
5. Then a straight solvent weld pipe to connect to the existing compression/push waste

Also i have noticed that the flexi tails from my tap are too short.

What would be the best way to sort this out?

1. yes
2. No, use a 92.5 Deg or what we call a swept bend, straight up then another swept bend and piece of pipe to the trap.
3. You may get away with using tap tail adapters (below) to bridge the gap (do you have the nuts and olives from those isolation valves?), otherwise a small piece of pipe and 2x1/2" male compression couplers will be needed.

Thanks @Madrab

I bought the following attached to connect the flexi tails

Regarding the pipe it looks i will have a small straight piece to connect to the waste at the lower half

Then the swept bend

Straight piece going vertically up

Swept bend

And another straight piece to connect the whole thing up

Will post how i get on

The waste at the top cannot line up with the bottom because the 92.5 degree bend is hitting the copper pipes behind it.

Is there a work around for this?

Yes, loosen the bottom half of the trap (loosen the 2 plastic nuts)and swing it to the right hand side and twist the outlet so it's still facing backwards, then cut and dry fit the waste pipe until it all fits.

Thanks madrab. Unfortunately, i caught your reply too late

Here is the 'finished' product

Probably candidate for worst install of the year :D

Oh and i still have the matter of a small leak to attend to just under the flexi tail

Fun times!

That's encouraging

The waste is leak free at the moment, but given the install, is this something that i should rectify to avoid any potential issues in the future?

Or do you reckon that it should be okay?

As long as it's fitted properly then it shouldn't be an issue for the future. You do want to minimise the number of bends and over complicating any waste system so if at all possible to make it simpler then I would change it.
