Hi,

Really hope you can help. :)

Moved into a new build with a Veritas R8+ alarm installed. Had the basic no screen keypad, which we didn't find very useful.

I've bought the Excel LCD keypad and am trying to get it working.

New LCD keypad is installed where the old keypad was, using same wires, addressed as keypad 6.

Old keypad is now next to the panel.

Old keypad is completely functional in its new location (addressed as keypad 1).

LCD keypad lights up, beeps to key presses and shows alarm status on the screen. But it will not accept any input. Can't enter codes or do anything with it. It recognises that buttons are being pressed with a beep, but it doesn't change anything on the screen, or do anything to the panel.

I believe the new keypad is correctly configured as the tamper light has gone out (and the screen etc is functional).

I have power cycled the system to try and get it working, but hasn't helped.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Rich

Hi.

Thanks for the reply. I think so, it has a wireless module (Texecom Ricochet) attached, which provides connectivity to a few PIRs. I believe this will only work on a R8+?

Is there an easy way to confirm?

Wireless box picture attached.

Installing electrician assured me it was a plus, so will be mildly irritated if it isn't.

Feels like it's so close to working. Get all the right messages on the RKP screen, just buttons that don't work!

Change control panel for Trxecom elite 24 and you can have lcd keypads, reuse the ricochet wireless expander. This way you can connect smart com and contro system from your smart phone.

Any panel that accepts normally closed devices can use a ricochet expansion pack for the record.

Take photos of existing installation, control panel, pir, bell box
If sure ask question plenty of help on this forum

wont have any resistors with the new elite panel, so that's something to look at if the PIR's don't have them available I am guessing the wont.

label the cables in the veritas, bell , keypad and zones etc makes it easier doing the swap. follow the wiring as in the veritas.

the issue then will be the wiring type depending on what is available in the pir's
