Wetroom drain problems - should I use One Shot?

Hello,
My wetroom drain suddenly stopped working on Friday and I'm not sure how to fix it. I snaked the drain, and added bleach but no joy. I do have a bottle of One Shot but I am cautious of using it because I put bleach in the drain last night and it says not to use with bleach. Do I just need to leave it for a bit longer before trying with the One Shot? Or does that mean I just shouldn't use it at all?
As you can see the opening is very narrow.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

1. Don't use it at all until all the bleach has rinsed through.
2. Mechanical fixes are generally best. Have you tried a wet vacuum cleaner?
3. Bound to be a blockage further downstream. If the wet vac doesn't work, better snake / snake it further.
4. Check to see if other outlets going into the same soil stack have problems. Might help to pin point where the issue is.

Absolutely do not put One Shot down after bleach, until you've run a lot of water down there. It'll cause a violent chemical reaction which will either spray you in the face with a very toxic and corrosive mix, or release toxic gas (or both). Do you know where the drain runs to? I'd be inclined to call in a professional jetting company

One shot should not be used outside the plumbing industry .... it's actually not supposed to be sold to the public. Used incorrectly it can destroy pipework/drains and sewers, it can also contaminate water courses and burn the plumber that comes along after it has failed to clear the obstruction. It's also been known to injure homeowners when it burns through pipes.

When I snake it I can't feel any blockage, the snake reaches as far as the wall of the wetroom which is where the pipe turns I'm guessing? I don't have a wet vacuum cleaner unfortunately, maybe I could hire one. There are no issues with the sink or toilet or with the kitchen sink. I'm not sure where the drain runs to.

No other blockages, other outlets that are showing slow draining etc?

If not then yes if you can get a wet vac then that may shift it for sure but if not then it's track and tracing the waste run to find the issue.

Sadly all too easy to get hold of, even with the new regulations in place to try to prevent acid attacks and general danger to the public. You can buy a litre of the stuff on eBay for a sniff over £6

I sometimes get problems with both the wetroom and kitchen sink but haven't had any problems lately.

What I could do is put caustic soda down all three drains and see if that makes a difference?

Will see if I can get my hands on a wet vacuum too.

Hi, yes it does. As far as I can see there are no issues with the pump.

A mate of mine had a partially blocked shower drain. He bought some drain cleaner to use and decided it was best to put it in overnight. He went out to the pub, when he got home late, his wife was in bed so he poured it down then. Unfortunately she had also tried something before going to bed, he didn’t know that and a cloud of gas came up and gassed him. He had to go to hospital, it was very nasty.

Scary!

Update! Yes, it’s taken almost three weeks for me to resolve this issue. This is the sequence of my attempted resolutions:
1. Contacted plumber who couldn’t come out for more than a week
2. Decided to hire a wet vac, only one I could get locally was £58 a day.
3. Called another plumber who said he’d come in a couple of days.
4. A friend came round and between us we decided to try the One Shot.
5. It worked! Lots of gulping - a good sound.
6. Had one stress free shower then went away for the weekend.
7. Come the Monday morning the drain had stopped clearing again.
8. Poured more One Shot down.
9. Several calls to plumbers and drain people (interesting to note one plumber wouldn’t come out because he said all he would do would put One Shot down there anyway).
10. Finally spoke to a helpful drains guy who helped me to ascertain that it was a pump issue and not a drains issue; he told me I could get a service kit for the pump for about £17.
11. Decided to call the pump manufucter’s (Whale) maintenance line.
12. They suggested there probably was a blockage that One Shot cleared but then One Shot may have caused damage to the pump valve.
13. They posted a valve to me (arrived today, one week later) along with a link to maintenance videos https://www.youtube.com/user/WhaleHealthcare
14. I fitted the new valve; the old one had indeed hardened explaining the outflow issue.
15. It worked. An emotional moment.

And the moral of the story? It’s all a learning experience for which I am very grateful!
