Darwin had no idea of the complexity of simple cells, the complexity of which is staggering.

This chap is a world renowned scientist you might be suprised at the fact no one has a clue about how life could have evolved despite the assertions it did.

As in all scientific enquiry, a theory endures until a new hypothesis emerges and becomes accepted as the dominant theory. Nothing very surprising there. Is this guy just debunking; or offering an alternative?

He simply questions, which is entirely consistent with a scientific mind. He offers no alternatives, especially on the intelligent design "theorists" for which he says there is absolutely no evidence for.

Yeah, no. Plenty of theories, but it's hard to prove or disprove them. If you're going to get your science from YouTube there are some good places to start, this doesn't sound like one of them.

You can't prove a theory, you can only fit observed data to the theory, until that data doesn't fit anymore, at which point it's disproved. It's one of the reasons why some theory equations have constants added to them.
