Hi, I am trying to remove efflorescence from the house. I managed to remove it on one wall but I am not happy now with it looking darker like being wet. See photo.

I plan to use less acid on the adjacent wall to avoid the same problem hopefully but I am not sure whether to clean the rest of the porch now so the whole wall looks the same.

Any ideas please? Is this normal and it will fade eventually? Is there anything that can fix it now so it's not so obvious, as I imagine it will take a long time to fade if it ever will?

Many thanks.

nanuuk, good evening.

I take it you are wanting to remove the White / grey stain?

From the image posted, there is a pipe at first floor level that appears to be some sort of an overflow? central heating pressure overflow??? is the pipe still in position or has it been removed? if still in place is it dripping water?

Ken.

Hi,

Pipe is not needed anymore. White staining probably happened because of it.

I am actually wanting to do something about the dark red looking wall on the porch (to the left of white wall) which is a result of cleaning white stain on it with acid. My acid solution was too strong.
