o/s strut bush needs replacing so going to do both sides. B&B Components who trade via ebay have both the bush kits (£15 for pair) and shocks (£62 for pair) should I need them in Meyle brand.

German based, although perhaps not German manufactured, I'm curious what the for/against Meyle vote is.

Are you talking about the lower shock absorber bushes here?
I've used Meyle before, they were fine, but most I need are Lemforder make (Think I've spelt that right!) One type I don't like are in a green box, yellow graphics but can't recall the name....they didn't see a year out.
John :)

No, its the wing mount bushes and if needed, the shocks too.

I recently got acquainted with Lemforder when an uncle asked me to check part availability for his C220. Both Lemforder and Meyle are German based but seem to have manufacturing in other countries. The car parts industry such a minefield which is probably why counterfeiting is so prominent.

Not had the occasion to use Meyle but given to understand that the manuf. base is now in (guess where?) China.
I suspect this is pretty common these days, cheap labour etc. although surely this factor alone isn't the problem. If the design is German & both materials & manuf. process are to spec ?

I was doing some research last week as I needed 2 drop links for my golf.
Meyle HD (heavy duty) were recommended but people were saying to avoid ordinary Meyle.
I went for Meyle HD in the end.

A minefield indeed, but sometimes things work out.
I recently bought a Gerlach exhaust system through ebay for my old 5 series BMW, & got my local garage to fit it. They reported that it appeared to be well made & installed with no problems as the packaging contained all the fittings, even a sleeve (which my car needed, due to some bodgery by a previous owner) so I was well pleased at £133 inc. delivery.
These systems come from Germany, but are manuf. in Poland by a very old established company who originally made cutlery.

Back in 2017, I bought a pair of Meyle rear suspension bushes for my daughter's Punto and they simply didn't fit. I know they're supposed to be an interference fit, but they simply wouldn't go in - something like a whole millimetre oversized!
