Gap between Window and Brickwork

I recently had thick pebbledash render removed from exterior wall which exposed big gap (see photo) between brick and window, exposing insulation.

I think the reason for this is that the previous owner fitted the windows after the pebbledash was done.

What is the best way to remedy this and remove/hide the gap?

It needs trimming over after foaming

Or filling with mortar - which is quite tricky to do neatly esp to face brickwork.

Foam, once cured cut flush, then add a pvc trim.
