hello all, i have had purlin supports installed recently due to a roof sag. i would like your expert opinion in the quality of the work done. please refer to the uploaded pics and let you know your thoughts. i feel that the angle is quite steep for the purlin to rest on .there is lots of gap in between and is not a flush fit.

below is the pic of the previously installed support. i find this to be much robust and has enought surface for the purlin to rest on.

In the second pic, none of the wood seems to be in contact with the purlin - maybe that is just the light - and a plastic shim appears to have been inserted.

Can you post pics of where, and on what, the supports sit on the floor of the loft, as that is quite crucial too.

Was cross bracing fitted between the new pair of support?

Blup

That's not been cut by a carpenter.

Any chippie would know how to get the correct angle.

It's clear if that would even support the purlin even if it did fit

Argentina would get more support at Wembley than that purlin is getting.
