Can anyone provide me any help to open this cistern ? Apparently I found no lid on this cistern . I want to open it and check why it has no water today but I subsequently found it comes in a single piece with no lid . I can however unscrew the flush button successfully but the cistern is still intact . Thank you in advance . Robert .

That has to lift off (screws/nut underneath?) and there'll be a concealed plastic cistern behind it, no other way it can work and still be serviceable IMO.

What does it look like inside when you look down the button hole?

There is no screw underneath because it connects with the seat as one piece .

I think I've come across one of these before. The ceramic cover should lift off but it may have been stuck to the wall with a blob or two of silicon. A long kitchen knife should sort it for you.

ive fitted one similar , think it was called metropolitan. the one i did hooked over tapered steel brackets that pull it in to the wall, but as above it’s probably got silicone applied.

Thanks for the help . I still cannot make it because it was tightly attached to the wall with very little gap . I decided not to risk it and called the landlord to send some authorised people to fix it .

If you'd said up front that you were a tenant, the advice would have been to get the landlord to sort it out. As a tenant, if you damage it, the landlord would probably be looking for you to pay for replacement.
