What type of roofing is this?

I've got a very old garage with a little bit of leaking and I'm thinking of using bitumen paint with glass fibre trim to fix the leak but not sure if it will stick to this type of roof.

I've never seen a roof like this, looks like something that was used years ago. Any idea what it is and if bitumen paint will adhere to it?

I've attached pictures showing the top and underneath of the roof. Those bumps on the top look like blisters from the sun? Whatever material it is, it's very hard to the touch.

It's Mastic Asphalt ( though our friend ted insists that's tarmac:ROFLMAO:) so bitumen will stick

Thanks, I've ordered the primer and bitumum, hopefully it'll get here before the rain.

Out of interest, what's the concrete-block looking stuff supporting the mastic asphalt? I google'd mastic asphalt but didn't get anything telling me about the base its layed on.
