Hi. Can anybody help? I have an Worcester Greenstar Heatslave boiler (2008) with an internal digital programmer which is playing up. The programmer has 3 programmable periods for both CH and HW but when I have tried to find a replacement with the part no (7716192033) there only seem to be units with 2 periods. They all look the same as the original unit but I ideally want 3 periods. Is it possible to fit a Worcester Comfort programmer instead? Did the programmer change to just 2 periods? It seems strange that if it did it retained the same part no. Many thanks.

Can you post a pic of the programmer that is currently fitted please

Here is a photo of the programmer. As I said it has 3 periods for both hw and ch.

Thanks for your reply Ian. I have just looked at that part but I haven’t found anywhere where it says that it is for the Greenstar Heatslave 18/25 boiler nor have I found any mention of 3 periods. The instruction manual definitely gives the part no 7716192033 (see photo). Do you know whether a programmer from the comfort range would fit? Many thanks for your help.

Why not see if you can obtain a blanking plate and fit an external timer with 3 on/off periods?

Hi Hanks for the reply. Ideally I would like to replace the programmer with another internal one but I do have a blanking plate for it. Could you recommend an external programmer that would work?

call Worcester customer service , they are pretty good they will give you the part number and availability that you need , if it is no longer available you can fit any controller you want next to the boiler

As per @ianmcd really, call Worcester and they’ll tell you which ones of theirs will fit internally, if you do want an external one, any 2 channel programmer will work.

Thanks all. Just phoned Worcester. Guess I chose a bad day. It took me nearly an hour before I spoke to anyone and to be honest I think she was the cleaner . Considering it was technical support she didn't know anything at all. She kept saying that they couldn't sell directly to the public. I kept saying that all I wanted was information about the programmer and the number of timing periods. In the end I asked to speak to someone more "techy" and eventually I spoke to a bloke who confirmed that the Part No Worcester 7716192033 should be a 3 period programmer. He thought that the descriptions by every trader I had looked at "might" be wrong. I'm not filled with confidence.

Hi that is the correct part number you have got.
I’ve just seen it for sale at plum nation online for £119.
No you can’t fit the comfort control. The one above is correct for your boiler

Thanks. Again in the description it says “Enables two heating and hot water on/off periods to be set each day of the week”. Not the 3 that the original has and which according to the Worcester guy it should have with that part number. Confusing! It’s funny that all suppliers describe it in the same way. Oh well, guess I’ll just have to take a chance.
