Hello
Im Having combi CH fitted next month and removal of an old council Baxi front fire with rear water heater.
The company are leaving the gas supply but im unsure if i want a real log burner or a gas fire.

The depth of space ill have left in the wall and the chimney, flu is a big part of determining choice.

Does anyone have any idea the space left or what the council lined the chimneys with when they fitted them?
Thanks

The chimney will have a copex flue liner in it, cant be used for a log burner, as for the catchment space sizing it could be anything they are all different

Was hoping the flu would be ok as i have an unused log burner (a few hundred quids worth) in my van. Im on minimal spends right now so improvising where safely possible.

Thats a fab article, i read up a bit today on the net but that has loads more info in one place. Big thanks
