Gutter Downpipe Adapter

Hi,

Fitted new Floplast guttering with 68mm downpipes, but the original 40 years old pipes measure approx 63mm OD.

Is there an adapter for joining these 68 to 63mm pipes ? Not found any after many web searches.

The 68mm pipe does fit over the 63mm and thought that would work with some silicone sealer inside, but still leaks a bit.

Thanks, had seen that one, but its outside diamenter is 68mm, seems its for the gulleys narrower outlet.

I need to put the new 68mm OD downpipe into an adapter that then fits inside the 63mm old pipe.

I Thought it was to fit a 68mm pipe and adapt to 63. Sorry, good luck. If i find anything ill let you know

Not ideal, but maybe something like this as a last resort if you cant find an actual adaptor.

I did what you did - put a 68mm. piece over the 63mm pipe with some 68mm pipe sticking up to take a 68mm fitting. I used weld solvent cement and when that had set, I ran some mastic on the inside and the outside to seal it. Silicone does eventually fail, but the solvent cement is used in sink waste fittings and is permanent. See my post and pictures on this forum.

Thanks all, still not found any proper adapter to buy, so have been trying to reseal the joints we have already made with mastic instead of silicone.
Think the stormy weekend ahead will soon show if its been effective !

The rubber reducers i put a link up for above. There is a 70mm down to 60mm. Then you can put the 70mm over the 68 and the 60mm end into the 63 and seal.

If im correctly understanding the orientation of the pipes then it shouldnt leak.
